Lexington Nonprofit Coalition reviews nonprofit landscape amidst federal cuts
Several Lexington nonprofits are quoted in the presentation, sharing how federal funding cuts have affected their organizations.
The new tax rates will raise revenue by 4% from last year for the General Fund and Urban Services Fund.
On Thursday, Council gave a final vote of approval for new ad valorem tax rates. These rates will be assessed on property in 2026.
The rates adopted by Council – which were recommended by the Mayor's Administration – will raise revenue by 4% compared to last year's tax collections for the City's General Fund and Urban Services Fund.
The General Fund tax rate will be .075 cents per $100 of taxable property value.
The Urban Services Fund has three rates: one for street lights (.027 cents per $100 of taxable property), street sweeping (.009 cents), and waste collection (.137 cents).
