Council follows Mayor's recommendations for property tax rates
The new tax rates will raise revenue by 4% from last year for the General Fund and Urban Services Fund.
Council voted to reappoint Johnathon Davis to the Planning Commission. Anissa Martinez, a nominee for the Board of Adjustment, was not approved for appointment by Council.
Last Tuesday, Council held a Confirmation Hearing to vote on one nominee for the Planning Commission and one for the Board of Adjustment.
Council voted to reappoint Planning Commission member Johnathon Davis to another term on the Planning Commission. His first full term will begin July 2025 and run through June 2029. He has served a partial term starting in December 2023 to now.
Council voted not to appoint nominee Anissa Martinez to the Board of Adjustment. Martinez was nominated to replace Racquel Carter, whose term expires on July 1st. Lexington’s Code of Ordinances requires that a vacancy be filled within 60 days.
Council’s summer recess starts July 4th. They will come back from recess for their first meeting on August 12th, leaving approximately two weeks for a nominee to be appointed after they return from recess.
